The Petey Greene Program

The Petey Greene Program is an organization centered around educational justice. We work to promote academic achievement in carceral facilities to support people and build stronger communities.

We tutor in several nearby correctional facilities in the DMV area, primarily at the Youth Services Center in Northeast DC and the DC Jail in Southeast DC. Groups of 2-4 members tutor Monday-Friday and teach a variety of subjects at high school levels to fulfill the goals of the Maya Angelou Academy or prepare for a GED exam.
