In pursuit of educational equity, Open Door Preschools nurtures and inspires young children of diverse abilities, circumstances, and backgrounds in a child-led, play-based environment.

Opportunities

As an inclusive preschool program caring for children from the ages of infants to preschool ( approx. 3 months to 5 years old), we welcome individuals who are interested in working alongside our teachers in reading, leading activities, helping organize books, toys and materials, helping administrators with office duties, and anywhere we need an extra set of hands.
Students are considered volunteers so they cannot be left alone with the children or are expected to assist in diaper changing or toileting.
Students are asked to follow the Open Door dress code (appropriate length of shorts, t-shirts, blouses). checking-in and out with Family CARES staff is also requested.

Requirement Details

Volunteer Application Process:

Students are asked to fill out the provided application. Once submitted, a short phone interview with Leslie is conducted and assignment is determined. A tour of the assigned site and orientation is conducted before start date.

All volunteers at Open Door Preschools are required to have a background check done prior to starting their time with us.

COVID-19 Requirements
Wondering if you should register to volunteer? Based on the CDC guidelines, we are asking you the following questions:

Have you been exposed to someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19? See the CDC’s risk assessment guidance.
Do you have symptoms consistent with COVID-19? Symptoms can include a cough or shortness of breath or at least two of the following: Fever, Chills, Repeated shaking with chills, Muscle pain, Headache, Sore throat, New loss of taste or smell. See the CDC’s symptom information.

If you answered "yes" to any of those questions, we ask you not to register. We are doing all we can to align with best practices and keep our community healthy.
